I don't see many detail pics of recent Navigators (this one is 2017), so here we go.

Beautiful fret end binding (follows the fret crown perfectly) and nice, tight inlay along the sharp-cornered trapizoids

Guitar set up and plays like a dream. Weight seems around 8 to 9 pounds. Not a boat anchor at all. Neck is on the slim side, too. I had a N-LP-CTM from the early 2000s that must have weighed every bit of 10 lbs and had an enormous neck. This guitar and my two '21 N-LP-CTMs have much more manageable necks and weights.

I decided to do a NGD for this one (rather than either of the CTMs) because you can see a bit more of the guitar instead of just glossy black.

The finish on these is really nice too. Almost seems to glow.

Wow thanks for showing off such details... I would like to date one navigator, but does it have that loud mid quack as the gibson does? I gotta Heritage H150 recently thou it's hardware are kinda sloppy but I was lucky enough that the heritage h150 of mine sound great... its snappy and has good lowend tons of sustain in it... have tried the other heritage h150 but mine just sound better to my ears and it weights heavier than the other piece...

But the Heritage didn't have the mid heavy sound as it plays with more of a flatter eq acoustically...

Wonder what's up with the navigator vs the gibsons

Great looking guitar. Do these come with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard?

Congrats! Does the headstock angle match Gibson's or is it shallower like Edwards?

Very nice !!!

I have been tempted by the Navigator line a couple of times, and been weary of the shipping from the sellers, who were both in Japan. However, I recently read that the reputable shops in Japan, can get it to you faster than most USA shops, by using DHL shipping.

Definitely worth another look !!

Every guitar and pedal (great deals on Boss pedals!) I've bought from Japan has gotten to me inside a week. It's pretty insane to order something from the other side of the world on Monday and have it in your hands on Friday.

Congrats!!!

I really want to play one of these but whenever I look ‘em up they’re often approaching GIbson prices.

Supposedly, they're "better* than Gibson CS. Supposedly.

Hahahah based on my own personal history with MIJ’s and Gibson’s CS, I wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit, but also wouldn’t be surprised if there was a lot of hair splitting involved in those who have had both in their hands.

Cool guitar. I didn’t know these were still made, but I’ve played a couple older Navigators, a Les Paul and a 335 and both were really great guitars.

I think the headstock angle is 17 degrees like Gibsons.

Not Brazilian boards.

It's a great guitar and the fit and finish is IMHO better than a Gibson Custom Shop, but the end product is not entirely the same. I have a '57 LPC still and have owned plenty of other Gibsons. The Navigators definitely have that chunky LP thing. They do not sound like a Superstrat. But the Gibsons have more... "grrrrrr"? To the sound.

I love the Navigators though. Just works of art, flawless. And I really like the sound/tone.
