Yes, I know I'm supposed to be getting rid of guitars* but, I NEEDED this one! I never knew about this model until a month ago. Don't know how I missed it but I did. I had a Y2D before. It was cool and all but I'd just didn't bond with it. The thicker neck on this limited run version is to die for (made to Joe Bonamassa's specification)! Basically it is a modified Y2D model. I guess Joe had EBMM make him a custom model with like a '59 LP neck profile carve, jumbo frets and covered pickups. EBMM asked him and Steve if they can make it and they did.

Ernie Ball Steve Morse Dark Lord :D

*Disclaimer: I have sold 4 guitars and one head. I have purchased 2 guitars and am DONE! I promise... well... at least until I figure out what custom guitar I will get Craig O'Donnell to build for me someday ;)

Grats! Man I would love to have this guitar, I was GASSING for one so bad a few months ago but the neck was too big for me :(

Love that guitar!!! Personally, I've never been too big on EBMM's, but that one makes my jaw drop. Very cool!!!!

This thing needed a set up BAD! I was fretting on on bends above the 16th fret and there was some grease or something underneath the pickguard that was driving me nuts. Strings were new on it but, had to jettison them to take the pickguard off. Put on a set of EB Cobalt 10-46. Set the intonation. Adjusted the truss rod. Raised the action. Adjusted the pickup height. Now we're in business. This one resonates a little more than my Luke III. Going to dirty the Luke III strings a little more and then switch them to 10-46 as well. The Luke III sound GREAT now through an amp but I want it to sing a little more unplugged (which will shine even more plugged in too). Oh and uh... this came in the mail today too:

We all know Mr. Quayle is a BAD MF'er! Well, he designed a great pedal. I tried it out and the NY Amp Show last Sunday. I liked this and the Sovereign but, this one has more knobs and switches so you know which one I went with ;)

It's a sweet pedal, very versatile. Only dirt box I've put on my board in 4 years.
Nice Dark Lord too

I went to a GC after I picked it up from LI because I wanted to A/B my Luke III with a particular Albert Lee model but it was sold. I did it with the Albert Lee they still had and MAN the DiMarzio Transition pickups in Luke III's kill! They are so clear!

Anyways, they had a de-purple burst y2d there too so I A/B'd it with my dark lord. The Dark Lord had a teensy bit more bass and was just a wee bit darker in the highs. They BOTH sounded great though. So take heed... Paramus GC has a superb sounding Y2D hard tail for $1,700 OTD. Ask for Mike Curly.

Anyways I wouldn't have sold my Tobacco Burst Quilt y2d if it sounded like either of those too (to bright for me).

You always have some nice guitars John!

Congrats. Enjoy. I love my y2d

Go get the de-purple burst from Paramus. They almost sound the same ;)
