So I'm in the middle of a build cause I decided being in 2 bands who both play 2 different tunings than each other would be fun and seeing as all my guitars are Floyd equipped I needed something else. So on top of that I decided I should have at least one non locking guitar in the arsenal in case of an emergency... Cue my new guitar!

1982-1987 Burny Les Paul Custom black beauty with correct split diamond headstock. Got it straight from a guy selling it from Japan and he shipped it over in a Burny case.
First impressions are pretty good, the pickups sound good, frets feel good, 50's style neck feels great, it's heavier without being too heavy (I'd say about 9 lbs) and the only thing I'd see needing to be done to it is replacing knobs, pots, tuners and trying to find the cause of this feedback squeal I can't manage by muting the strings with my forearm... But I'm happy with it!

Congrats! Those are some great guitars. Swap the pickups and you'll be good!

Ya I'm getting this squealing feedback on top of the good feedback that I don't get on any other guitar... I'm guessing a pup swap will help with that...

Mahogany body, rosewood fretboard dyed to look ebony... I'm thinking an Aldrich in the bridge, any ideas on the neck or any other combo?

Yeah,, take the pickups out and drop them in the trash. Put something real juicy in there and it'll be a real sweet sounding beauty.

The neck Aldrich is as good if not better than the bridge!

I've got a suggestion to use a Duncan Jazz/Custom set over the Aldriches... Aldrich set with gold covers $240, Custom and Jazz with gold covers about $200 but I'd have to put an aftermarket gold cover on the neck... What is the verdict? Go for the Suhr or the cheaper Duncan set that I'd need to solder a cover on the neck and such...

I just put a JB and a Jazz in one of my Les Pauls. Awesome combo in a LP.

I have a MCP Detroiter set in my LP and they are great! MCP's are my favorite pickups. I also have a Afwayu set that are great too! Higher output and more lows and low mids.
