Hi all,

You may recall a couple of weeks ago I was agonising between a PRS 25th Anniversary Custom 24 and a Gibson LP Custom. Well, it turns out that many Gibsons made in the last few years play like arse. Accordingly, I got the PRS! Custom 24 25th Anniv. in charcoalburst, wide/thin neck, 57/08 pickups. My dream guitar (other than the pickups, which I'll likely replace with a BKP Cold Sweat / Aftermath combo).

Photos are below!

Stunner.

I'm in love with it. Your avatar has reminded me...the first track I played on it (in the shop): 2 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT!

I know you said you are having trouble attaching the pics but be that as it may google images are unacceptable in my book. I need real pics! Sooooo.....:picsorban: :D
Either way though Congrats!

Apparently adding photos works now

Thanks for the real pics  looks freaking epic! How do you like the five way rotary pickup selector? Don't think I would like that very much as I tend to switch between the neck pickup and bridge pickup constantly. I think i would rather have a toggle.

The "lampshade" rotary switches are easier than the perfectly circular one on my 2008 Custom 24, but neither are as good as blade switches, I'll admit. The 2011 Custom 24s have blades, so I suspect they will become a permanent feature.

Thanks for the comments mate. I need to avoid buying more gear, now!

  I understand. I have bought a PRS singlecut, tremonti II, a mushok baritone, and a Titan custom amp all within the past 8 months. I have never bought so much gear so fast! They are all too good for me too   . Enjoy that beauty!

Thanks all.

V: given I have a Herbie, should I trade my VH4 for a 20th Anniversary XTC? I know you have both!

I really think I'd have a hard time bringing myself to sell a Diezel, though... :aww:

That's a really tough thing to ask. My guess is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I love the 20thA XTC but you may not. The things I love about the V are probably greatly different than the things you love about the Herbert. So it's a really tough decision - especially not knowing what musical preference you're into and what tones you're seeking.

Tough call.

Can say, 100% though, the 20thA XTC loaded with EL34s or KT77s is an absolutely AMAZING sounding amp - period, bar none, top contender, hands down, awesome.

But in the meantime congrats on the new ax and sweet set up

Congrats for the PRS but i think that i Ibanez is a true killer!!!

Something is wrong with the PRS trem, I think. *SIGH* Does anyone have any experience in restoring a PRS trem to the correct knife-edge?

I think the knife-edge is uncalibrated now as when I pitch downwards the trem appears to balance on one side, but unhinge on the other :( Guitar goes horribly out of tune.

Otherwise plays great!
