I got this guitar a while ago, and while in great condition it was just uninspiring to play. It sat in a case unused for six plus months. I did a several item with this guy and this was part of it. I figured at the end of the deal, i had about $300 into this guitar (got the advantage of the deal big-time)
so here she is now!
It was a brown faded model. i was going to grainfill it but opted out. I sanded all the way to bare wood and used a Rustoleum Finish. A lot of sanding though, goddamn.
The neck has a Walrus Oil finish rubbed in. I do have to go over it annually but thats not a big deal. great product though, can't beat the feel.
I will go over it buffing it again in the near future.
The neck pickup is a basic Burstbucker Pro witha .015uF NOS PIO Russian cap with the cap ran like the 50's stye Gibson
The bridge pickup is a early production Dimarzio Super-Distortion. The time-frame was verified by Dimarzio tech support, who actally had a LOT of knowledge, even of their early windings. According to them, the specs have changed from that year to current models, but all i care is that it sounds really good. My buddy in Jersey found it in a box and he knew i was into older Dimarzios and sent it to me free, just because he is a good friend.
The switch is a locking kill and i just put that there becuase i didn't need anything neutering the raw sound of the bridge pickup. there are other internal tweaks on the wiring.
