I had one of the OG San Dimas pointies back in the day, but it had been run through the ringer, rode hard and put away wet. I bought it in pieces but pretty much everything was there (original San Dimas neck plate, Floyd, etc.), the body had been stripped to bare wood and someone had ripped the frets out of the neck taking big chunks of the fretboard with it and the tip of the headstock had been knocked off and someone had sanded it over into a kind of rounded point. Looked weird.. LOL I had the neck refretted and the chips repaired, slapped it all back together and even in it's sad state it was one of "those" guitars that you remember. That was back in the day when you could call Charvel, and the nice lady in the office would fax you the build sheet if you gave them the serial number. The one I had was a dual hum, factory Floyd in candy apple red. Think Jack Butler's guitar in Crossroads, but mine had a rosewood neck instead of maple. Ended up selling it on eventually.
So, I was perusing the local FB Marketplace and found this USA Charvel San Dimas Reissue. Picked it up yesterday from the original owner. Still has the Charvel Owners Manual and Warranty Card with it. I didn't notice it when I picked it up, but I think the bass side Floyd Fose post may be leaning forward a bit but not a huge deal. I need to take the Floyd off and really check it. If it is, I could fix it here.. but I'm thinking maybe a trip to see Lee at GMW is in order to fix that post lean and maybe some kind of graphic while it's there. This guitar is SaWEEET!
