Picked this up today in a trade. Only played for a little while so far, but fucking loving it. Always wanted a SLO, but this will do until that day comes. First Soldano amp and this thing sounds awesome.

Awesome. You'll get a lot more versatility from the Decatone. I once had a Decatone before I knew much about the SLO, then heard about the SLO and bought one, then loved the SLO but still miss the Decatone. You have to know how to use the master volume on the Decatone to get great sound. It works a bit differently. You don't need to dial in a ton of distortion because it has a great liquid feel to it even with light gain. Celestion Creambacks will sound incredible with it.

I had the Master cranked going through a Suhr Reactive Load, then to my AxeFx (only for IR’s) and to the Mission Gemini II and it was singing pretty damn good.

I kinda like it. But OD channel have too much low end, imo.

Very nice collection. How is the loop on the Decatone?

Loop seems fine to me. I haven't had a lot of time with it yet, but I had my standard chain in there (EQ->Micropitch->Delay->Reverb) and it sounded good switching between them. I had the wet/dry mix on the amp all the way wet.

Congrats bro! I had one many years ago and miss it. Cool amp!

I had a Decatone for a while before I got an SLO. Then I joined a band where the other guitarist had a Decatone, and, truth be told, I always thought his Decatone sounded better than my SLO. I'm now a strictly Marshall guy, but could see myself scooping up another Decatone, if the right deal fell into my lap.

Spent some time with it today. Tried it through the SRL->axefx->Gemini with a bunch of different IR’s. It did sound the best to me with some Zilla Creamback IR’s. Then tried it through the Fryette PS2->Diezel cab and then Bogner Ubercab.

It is a killer amp. It’s definitely different and adds variety to the Hagen, Herbert and KSR Artemis.

Yes! Finally someone who doesn't automatically classify the Decatone as sub-par to the SLO. I don't think the Decatone or SLO are better than one or the other, but I think they're both as good. The Decatone is definitely more flexible. Some people complain about the 3rd channel, but when you compare it to the high gain channels of other amps, it's up there with the best. Terribly underrated amplifier.

Post some clips of it. Phone clips, anything...would love to hear it.
