I picked up two Jacksons today. The DKXT's red trans finish caught my eye on the website, and when talking to the sales guy he said if I was a Jackson nut then I needed to come check out an SL1 they just took in....

Needless to say I bought both of them. Package deal between the two made the DKXT so cheap, I couldn't say no.  I don't normally mess with cheap stuff like the DKXT, but it's not a bad little player surprisingly.

Congrats, I love red ghost flame on the SL1, I passed on a DK2M with a maple board and same finish and I've been looking for another since.

Awesome dude happy NGD. I love Jacksons and I can't believe I haven't bought another one yet. I love soloists and I love the ghost flames. I still do a search every few days for the elusive green ghost flamed SL2H or KV2. Is there a design on the headstock or am I Imagining things?

I'm still trying to find out what the factory name is for this paint job. Probably my favorite "ghost" style flame paint job they did, next to the dan lawrence "inferno" or whatever it was called where it looks like the entire guitar is on fire.

It's too bad Jacksons have dropped off in popularity.

What makes the green ghost flame elusive ? I have one, and a trans green maple top/mahogany back too.

The green ghost flame is pretty rare. Not a lot of them made. I think the black one with silver and purple flames is the most common.

Any idea of production numbers for the green ghost flame ?

Don't know, but I'm sure it's pretty low. Most of the ghost flame paint jobs are. I've seen mostly black ones, followed by blue, red, and then green. THe thing is Jackson did so many different flame paint schemes over the years that there are a lot of different ones out there.

If you've got a ghost flame green SL..... we need pics!

Yea dude do it up if you don't mind, there's only so many pictures on the internets of them.

Production numbers is a good question, I don't know. IIRC they were only made for 2 years in the early 2000's, 2001-2002 I think?

That would make since. Mine is a 2000.

More pictures?

Unfortunately........ :aww: :aww: I have not actually taken possession of my SL1 yet. I got it from GC and it had just come in, and here in California state law requires a 30 day hold on all used "pawn" type trade ins to check for stolen items. I should have it in my hands on Jan 15th and will take some better pics.

I would LOVE to post some pics of my gear, but I have NO idea how to do it...and there's a metric shit ton of it...which would make it quite a process. About 100 guitars (ESP, Jackson, Charvel, Kramer, Splawn, Ibanez, Gibson and a bunch of mutts), Boogie, Diezel, modded Marshall, Cameron, Ampeg, Peavey, Epiphone amps, TONS of pedals and rack gear, and old school recording gear.

100 guitars what the beans. Uh you just need a digital camera/phone camera of some sort, then upload to your computer, then to a hosting site like photobucket.

Actually on Rig Talk you don't even need image hosting, you can just upload pictures at the bottom of the screen under "upload attachment" when you go to make a post.

That SL1 is sweet! We got the boy that red DKXT for Christmas. Musicians Friend had them for $299. Nice guitar for the money.

My Android phone camera sux...and my wife is the keeper of the Nicon camera, and to go to her and say "I need pics of all the guitars" would be ASKING for a smack down...LOL. Maybe I can find a way around it...give me some time to be sneaky...

Yeah it's not bad. The EMG HZ pickups are actually pretty decent, not as bad as I thought they would be.

Ok ok...... you have to post pics of the Jackson in your avatar, or you are no longer allowed to post in this thread.

Ha ok but I'll have to find my pics. It's actually a Charvel 750. Had a local guy paint it a few years ago. He does (or should say did) killer paint work but got out of it last I heard. It was a solid blue with some chips & scratches so decided to have it refinished. Turned out really nice. Will post the pics when I find them on the computer. I too was surprised by those EMGs. Not what I expected, in a good way.

Here are a few pics of the Charvel 750. The EMGs were changed out for a Duncan Distortion & a 59. Awesome playing guitar but takes a little getting adjusted to the 24-3/4" scale when you first jump on it (everything else I play is 25-1/2"). Paintwork is top notch! Guy did a killer job, even airbrushed the logo on the headstock.
