So, I found this guitar recently at a local shop. GM4T with trans trem! I'm stoked, been wanting one of these since I was a kid!

This guitar is in excellent condition, barely played at all. I can see this easily becoming my favorite, and in a hurry. Plays like magic, has a truly huge sound, and absolutely cuts like a knife. I had to run the treble at about half, which is something none of my other guitar can do, they all have to be at 8-10, some even need an 11!

These strings are at least 4 years old!

Dude! Great score. These are great guitars. The trans trem on it looks brand new. I have a GL2T and its friggen fantastic. Lets see a vid with you using that the trem. 'Summer nights' is a fun tune and can really only be pulled of with one of these. Very cool purchase brother!

I akways liked the idea, but never got to play one until now. Just about everything on this guitar is near new, the shop had it since 2012 just sittin there collecting dust!

I was thinking the same thing with the trem, and Summer Nights, I got some homework to do. It didn't come with the tremolo arm, so I got to get one first.

Gotchya. Yeah, once you get the trem arm, you are going to be over the moon with it. All strings stay in tune as you raise or lower the bar. It's cool as hell and opens up a lot of doors and ideas. The trem set part that is on the trem and looks like notches in a key, those are the different settings you can lock the trem in. 2 down and two or 3 up. The one the is the lowest all the way down will be a tad out of tune, and the strings on the guitar are close to spaghetti at that point. On summer nights, the song starts off one notch up in pitch for the intro. Then in standard, followed by 1 notch down for the solo riff and solo. You'll have a blast with the transtrem. Headless USA I think sells parts for transtrems and may have the arm. If you have any questions about setting the arm up once you get it, let me know.

I started messing with the trem last night and moved it around up and down to all of the different pitches. Very cool for sure, but with these old strings it would really go out of tune quickly at the other settings. Once back to the original setting it was fine. No one locally carries the double ball end strings, so I'll have to likely order then from online.

Yeah, order like 5 sets. That will last you a good while. Also, there is a manual online that you can download that shows you how to intonate and make trem adjustments. Has a lot of good tips.

Good idea, is it still d'addario & Labella? I'll definitely get that manual, man I thought floyds were complicated, this will be a whole other level.

I talked with Don at headless, those guys are cool. I may send it in so Jeff can give it a good once over and fix anything that may need it

Time absolutely flies when playing this guitar. I play the same old crap I always play, but it comes easier, and sounds different, more edgy. Man I like this guitar. If you don't own one, go buy one immediately.

There is a really cool video about Ned Steinberger on YouTube. If I can find the link, I'll send it to you. It shows the company going thru their growing pains when the first moved into their Newburg location. Also shows him getting pissed off when all the other guys started copying his design and idea. Glad your enjoying it man. You stumbled on a great find with that one. Keep me posted
