Perhaps the weirdest NGD for me so far, for one of the bands i'm in i play guitar and also bass (with a guitar-->bass octaver), while in the practice room it comes across ok, we've just been recording an EP and the lack of a real bass was really really showing, no matter how much you tweak the low end frequencies the definition and oomph is not quite there, i
cue my search for a double neck with a 4 string bass and a 6 string guitar, after looking at some options found one of those steinbergers they did in limited quantities a while back, here it is:
given the size it isn't too heavy (think a decent weight les paul), it's perfectly balanced sits perfectly,
great to play, the pickups especially on the guitar side are somewhat lacking, so i might upgrade those soon
the other options for a 4 string and 6 string guitar were more in the vintage realm and as such a bit out of my price range ..(rickenbacker, carvin..)
the guy from el ten eleven has a sick looking carvin, which is from the late 70s i think, nigh impossible to find i guess
