Hey All,
FOR THOSE THAT DON'T WANT TO READ OR HEAR ME TALK ABOUT THE GUITAR JUST GOTO 2:30 - Because I know as much as you do it's annoying hearing someone talk about something you don't give a shit about and just want to hear. - Dallas
Many of you probably followed the build Will Stinnett did on this guitar for me through out the past four months. I know quite a lot of you were pretty into it so I wanted to make a quick video. It's my first YouTube experience, so yes I look, talk and play like a total idiot, and felt like a Deer in headlights but oh fucking well!!!!
I'm really really happy with this guitar, by far I'd have to say the best guitar I've not only owned but played, keep in mind I've got Les Pauls, PRS's, Fenders, Vintage Gibson E510, Ibaneze Prestiges, Martin's etc. so this is a very large statement for me to make, especially after only having the guitar a few days. I know many of you will say it's just the honey moon period etc., but i really don't feel that way with this guitar. The truth is this guitar has not only inspired me to play more in the past few days than I have in a long time, all though I still normally play 2-4 hours a day, it's been at least double that I've literally worn my fingers raw.
So a few things - first off this guitar is 100% hand made, with tools, no CnC machines, no robots or anything - so yes it does have MINOR physical imperfections, I prefer to view it as character, every guitar you play gets little nicks and crap anyway so before someone goes and orders one and says there is a little thing here I noticed that's not flawless... that is what happens when things are made by hand. THIS GUITAR IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED it's freggin killer. Now that I have cleared the air on that, for a guitar made completely by hand, it is phenomenal the level of perfection Will has achieved here, I don't have any dead spots in the frets, the neck radius is perfect, silky smooth, the finish is great, I can't find any real flaws in it other than pure minute aesthetics that only a robot could have prevented. This guitar has tons of mojo and soul, and honestly even in the two days it's been out of the case and adjusting to the temp here it has started sounding better! I just can't wait for a few years of this wood airing out a bit and really aging!
I've had probably close to 20 people play this thing by now, between local friends, family, and some salesmen I'm good friends at with Sam Ash, I actually had the guy who sold me all my other guitars apologize to me, he said he felt guilty he's sold me anything after he played this. And I got to tell you I have one of the best Les Pauls I've ever played. Again I just can't say enough about this guitar, it's just great in every aspect, from fit to finish, playability, tone, sustain, it's all there and probably my favorite part of it is the VERY unique harmonic characteristics it has, man it's just very complex yet every note in even very complicated chords will shine through and bounce of this thing with out any issue. I think the clarity comes a lot from the ebony and the WCR's where the complexity of the tone comes from the various woods used.
Anyway, enjoy the video and let me know your thoughts. And no this video isn't a wank fest as I said my fingers are raw and worn out haha...
