Picked this up this afternoon. Probably gonna try and switch the pups to Aldrich zebras with gold poles.

Nice. Suhr doesn't seem to build many with maple boards does he?

We only build 'em as dealers and consumers spec out 'em out. But I noticed that even during my days at Fender, the Rosewood board guitars outnumbered the Maple board guitars by over 2 to 1 (in the 70% to 30% range).

Why do you suppose that is?

Not diggin' the gold hardware (I'd prefer chrome on that guitar), but I love the Faded Denim finish. Had a standard finished like that and it was beautiful...

My Suhr had a Maple neck and was an absolutely amazing guitar. The only thing I couldn't get used to was the HUGE boat neck that it came with...

My new Suhr Modern that is in transit as we speak. Black with maple neck....

Nice score, that thing is beautiful, and strangely familiar :D :D

Whenever I get to order the 7 string they're doing, it might be in that color. Great guitar.

I think there's a general perception amongst inexperienced players that a separate fingerboard (various species of Rosewood, Ebony, Pau Ferro, etc.) is more "deluxe" than one-piece Maple. As for the more experienced players, it's a matter of preference, but Rosewood is a bit smoother (more low-mids) with a softer attack than Maple while having a little more high-end presence. It also doesn't get dirty as easily as Maple although I don't think people consider that as a reason for going with Rosewood.
