Excited to share this NGD with you guys!
Switchback Guitarworks "Country Boy" Single Wide- built by RT's ratter (Mike). It's his 'tribute' to the Esquire using his unique offset Tele-style body he calls the Country Boy.
Specs: Weight: 6lbs 10oz, 1 pc swamp ash body, chunky C-shaped maple neck, aged nitro finish, jumbo frets, 10" radius, Glendale raw top-loading bridge, Gotoh vintage staggered tuners. Switchback Country Boy pickup measures at 8.4k. 3-way switch with "ELDRED MOD" (1st position is straight to volume, middle position is volume and tone, and 3rd position engages a "cocked-wah" type tone.)
A super cool brown gator-print G&G hardshell case and some cool case candy (extra set of strings, spec sheet, Switchback picks, and Dunlop strap locks) sweetened the deal.
I first learned of Mike's guitars here on this forum. I don't normally buy guitars I haven't put my hands on, much less from a builder I've never heard of- but something about the pics I saw screamed top-notch quality. Something was so attractive about a well built guitar, built by one guy from the ground up at a great price point.
Speaking to Mike sealed the deal for me- he truly has passion for the instrument and provides great customer service.
Happy to share it's a fantastic instrument! Great fret work, a comfortable raw-finish neck with a contoured neck/body joint. Very resonant- I love the way I feel chords hitting my belly! Haven't had a chance to try it in rehearsal or recording yet, but I am one happy customer! Check out his work! I know a couple of guys on this forum have gotten or are expecting custom builds from Mike.
First pic is Mike's: taken from where he builds these out "in the sticks" as he says
