So. I’ve Been wanting to get into silent recording, IR’s, and “awesome” late night headphone tones easily.
Got talked into the studio by my Sweetwater rep, Mike.
Was gonna go captor and cab m, but he told me the converters, buffers, filters, hardware, and overall quality/functionality is that much better stepping up to the studio. I’d rather do it right the first time  I have zero experience personally in this realm, and know it’s not exactly easy to get stellar tones.

Got it last week and installed it in my recording desk, but just got to play with it last night, since works been nuts. Only played the stock cabs but was VERY IMPRESSED, off the bat.
I’m gonna buy some fortin cabs this weekend when I get a chance, and try some other ones.
Looking forward to it, to say the least.
Sounds awesome using my monitors and subwoofer as outputs also

Sweet. I always have wanted one. I just keep buying amps though.

However i don't have to worry about noise.

Hahah I have (4) 4x12’s. I usually don’t have to worry about noise.
I don’t know too many folks that live in a nice neighborhood, that can record a full mic’d Signal though, once it’s dark.

I’m only 33, so I would like to preserve some hearing as I get older.
This will be a great tool for all that, and to have zero restrictions on recording, as I’m wanting to put more focus in that.
But it doesn’t make sense to play any of my (6) 100w+ tube amps through 1 or 2 cabs, if my kids are sleeping downstairs.
I put it off the past year, usually because an amp or guitar.. But I’m pretty content now with all my other areas.

Oh yeah, and you can have 2 different cabs and 2 different mics going at the same time with the studio.
EPIC!!!

Solid unit. I had one for the better part of a year and it was very nice. Two-Notes stuff is great!

I’ve heard great things. I believe two notes also is catered to the metal tones as well. I know a lot of the newer metal bands and producers are using the studio exclusively, even live, and ditching cabs.
I’m metal basically through and thorough, so should be a good fit.

Congrats - great piece of gear, love mine. Fortins are nice and the official Boogie world tour 4x12 is solid.

Thanks!
I was looking at the official Mesa/boogie world tour and studio models, they look promising also

I only had the captor and the WOS to me wasn't that great (maybe user error) but if you are shopping IR's definitely check out the Celestion paid IR's they are very good.

I’ve heard the Celestions are good.
I know white chapel and a lot of other bands are using the torpedo studio exclusively to record and live.
Yeah man, you only had one little element of the chain, if you were using just a captor and the expansion software, etc, and expecting great results.
I’ve heard similar “meh” results using just that.

Now, that’s why I just went ahead and eliminated every other variable, beside a great tube amp, and went with the studio. But we’re taking a $250 unit (loadbox only) vs a $1650 piece of professional rack gear. So we’re not really talking apples to apples here.

I honesty haven’t heard one complaint about the studio. A lot of pros and amateurs I’ve talked to are in love with them and count on them daily. Ymmv. I’ve never heard such a great tone through headphones in less than 5 minute as I did last night. I did read the manual back to back though more than once before even powering on

Congrats man! LOVE my Studio. Forever piece of gear (unless they make a revised one). I also just got the Captor/CAB M for my mobile video rig but the bulk of my demos have been with the Studio.

Get the Fortin Cab Pack and the Big Beast/Big Boy 212's from Hop Pole Studios. They are killer.

I was looking at getting one as well, but with my luck they will release a new version right after I buy one.

Your demos are killer, and guess what? You own a studio
Takes a lot of the guess work out for me. I don’t have a lot of time to piece stuff together, and learn/figure out why something isn’t compatible or not reading something else properly. It’s an all in one solution for what I needed and wanted.

I wouldn’t let that reason stop you, not sure how it can get better? It’s revolutionary And they pretty much got it right this time. There was one version before, and this pretty much completed the vision.
But who knows maybe in the far future something else will come out. They have no intention of replacing it anytime soon. That was a concern of mine also.

EPIC!!!

Last time I checked I have over a dozen 100+ watt amps. I have seven cabs in the studio/shop and a few more at my house (yikes). As long as it is before 10pm I don't bug anyone.

I want to get more into recording, but I keep putting it off, mind that I have several DI boxes and reampers unopened. It just gets complicated. Lol
