(yes i know two strings are crossed in the third pic. blame it on teh booze

THIS is a killer guitar, its one of the USA made ones that they did for a short stint. The quality is astounding. Just like my ESP and USA Jackson, etc.

I have had it a few weeks and i am totally in love, past the hoeymoon stage. nice piece or ass and no plans for divorce. lol.

i love the EVO in the neck. The TZ in the bridge may or may not stay. i bought this NOS. LITERALLY NOS. i was the first to play it. it was in origional packaging. no wear, not even a fingerprint. its great. i may get a sound clip of it through the splawn supersport, as it mates fantastically.

i have two more N_D's to post in the next bit.

Congrats! Identical to mine, and if yours is half the player mine is it's amazing. Some of these USA production models from 08/09 play and sound as good as a custom shop model.

Sweet! It is an amazing fiddle. Definitely among the best. Best fretwork out of the box I have seen.

Do you still have the TZ in the bridge?

Also do you have your trem decked? Or slightly floating? I think I am going to get a trem stopper for it and just do dive only.

TZ long gone, I always pull them for a Duncan usually a Custom. Although I have an RTM in there now. My Tangerine has a Custom. Both trems are dive only. For reference I've had 2 custom shops and 2 original SDs from 84 and 85...these are right there with either category. Although the originals do have some mojo, and if you get one with Ebony or Rosewood the board itself is THICK. Like 1/2 inch thick. But my Plum outplays any of them. Effortless.

Congrats. That's a beauty and I love the color. I have a Polar White from 09' and really dig it.

Cool! Thanks for the info! I am definitely glad I picked this up.

What pickups other than the custom do you think will get a nice chunky tone out of the bridge? I keeping the EVO in the neck.

I love that color configuration. The white is a nice color on it too.

Yeah the EVO sounds good in the neck, like you I usually leave them in. The absolute BEST bridge pickup in these IMO is an MCP Afwayu, a bit of a wait but you want thick, articulate AND cut without being too bright the Afwayu is it.

That's a little more than I want to spend TBH.

I like the crunch lab and the Illuminator bridge. How do you think they will do in the charvel? I want chunk and bite, but something that still cuts.

Other than a good ole Super D I'm more of a Duncan guy, something about the high end I dig more than DiMarzios. Custom is it for me other than the Afwayu.

What would you pair with the custom? And which SD Custom do you recommend?

I can't mix dimarzio with SD. lol

YES!!!! I love this series. I have the Plum and tangerine SoCal's and a Black San Dimas from this series. They are, by far, my favorite guitars i own.

Very nice. I have two 1980's model 1 too. One is waiting under the Christmas tree in December. Lol. The other is SSS and kicks all sorts of ass. I think it will get a SC sized 'bucker in the bridge though.
