Some of you may have seen my post about QC fail x2. For those who didn't this is my new Lizzy hale explorer. I had to do some finish work on it cause lt had one chip all the way to the wood and a place where the clear coat was starting to peal. Anyway, Sweetwater gave me a big discount so I kept it.
The guitar comes with 57 classics in it which I hate, so I changed the bridge to a 498t that I had lying around. I have never been a fan of that pup either but I thought I might as well try it and in this guitar its just what the doctor ordered. I still need a good neck pup though.
I also changed the pickguard and knobs to make it look like a custom and I added a Floyd rose FRX. At this point, I'm leaving the gold Pickup rings that may soon change though.
I'm still in the honeymoon phase but I love the guitar. I played an explorer for many years back in the day but moved away from them because of lack of a Floyd. So it kinda feels like coming home.
BTW for those of you who are thinking about the Floyd FRX but aren't quite sure about it. It works great only 2 small holes in the headstock required to hole the locking nut in place. The only bad thing I can say about it is its heavy. I would say it probably weighs about 16 oz
