NGD Wizard & Marshall!

A Wizard MTL 50 watt (2012) and a Marshall 2061cx. Bananas! Got the wizard off Reverb and the cab off Craigslist. This amp is the sound in my head. The notes are so immediate and clear, it's insane! I only got to play the clean channel through the cab as the lead channel got immediate noise complaints from the family. I did however get to jam it through the Two Notes Captor and CabM. So good, sooooooo good. Doesn't have a loop but it has a line out and for recording I can always add delay and reverb with a plugin.

Gonna try to play it at half power with the Captor's -20dB option. If even that doesn't work I'll probably sell the cab (as sexy as it is). Speakers were replaced with some UK G12T75s but whatever.

That might have been the amp I had a few yrs back? If it has a slight crack in the logo.. great amp and puts out like a 100w. I didn’t gel with the mids so I sold it. Got an MCI later and that’s the Wizard for me.

Seller mentioned a slight crack in the logo. I haven't even checked yet, prob something you have to really look for to notice. Bought it from a fellar named Dave from NC. Really looking forward to digging in to it and doing some recording with it.

Thanks man, yeah I made the dude an offer and he accepted. Couldn't be more pleased. Cheers on yours man, it's so heavy and perfect. Has drained the GAS tank. I have to send back a used LPC to GC to pay for this but after playing the amp I don't even care.

Anyone who knows, the half power switch on this thing, works with both tubes in since it's a 50 watter or pull 1 tube? I'm thinking works with both but I want to be sure before I try it. Hoping the half power plus Captor -20dB will let me play it without my family yelling at me.

I wouldn't pull one tube on a 50w amp. Especially since it has a half power switch. To be safe, make sure you half the impedance on the ohm selector before you engage the half power. It might not need that but better safe than sorry. If you are playing a 16 ohm cab, drop it to 8ohm for instance.

They are great amps...I still have some regret selling the 2010 MCI 100w I had. It really was THE amp for me. But, I had one 'bucket list' amp left to try, a 2C+ Coliseum. Which I finally did...but I had to sell the MC to fund that venture. Unfortunately, I can't keep them all....

Dudes...you really should treat yourselves at some point & take one for a spin. Nothing I've owned holds together and packs the wallop of a Wizard...nothing.
I sold my MCII back in the fall and knew before I dropped it off at FedEx that I'd have to get another someday...just didn't expect someday would be so soon Lol! It's the most unique grind I've encountered...like the the amp is about to come apart at the seems but in a very very good way.
