My wife gave me money out of her income tax return and said go by yourself a new guitar! Man I love that woman. So here it is. ESP LTD Eclipse Delux 1000 FR.

See Thru Black Cherry Sunburst. Mahogony body with a Flame Maple top. (The paperwork says Quilt top but it looks flame to me) EMG 81 and 60 with a Floyd Rose 1000. Love the color and Abalone binding and inlays on her. This thing came perfectly intune right out of the box and doesn't need any setup or adjustments. The neck, Action and intonation are dead on. And that's pretty much of unheard of in my 28 years of playing guitar. Every new guitar I've ever had has needed some form of setup or adjustment. Some major some minor so props to ESP for putting out a quality product. Never used the EMG 60 before. Anybody else use one before? Never used a Floyd Rose 1000 before either. Never heard of it for that matter. Lol! Is it a step up from the Floyd Rose Special? What do you guys think about the top? It says it's quilt but it looks more like flame to me.

That's such an awesome guitar!! And you have a great wife!
Congrats

Congrats on the guitar. That is a quilt its just a tighter version.

congrats! I love LTD deluxe models. I kinda wish I would've gotten an ec instead of a viper.

Verrrrrrrrrry nice guitar! I didn't know either that those guitars came with FR.

And your wife is just awesome  !

Happy NGD! Great looking guitar.

I recently bought the LTD Phoenix 1000 and continue to be impressed with the quality of the guitar for the money.

Couple of questions...
1. Did the neck come with a satin finish?
2. How does the neck/body joint feel compared to a Gibson LP?

The Floyd was the whole reason I got it. I'm joining an Ozzy Tribute band and wanted a Les Paul style guitar for looks and so I could do the whole neck pickup volume off /toggle pickup selector switch trick and still be able to do the dive bombs and stuff that I'm going to need to do for some of the Randy era stuff. A Les Paul with a Floyd is way out of my budget and I'm really just not comfortable with speedy technical stuff on Epi's and Paul's. I've always played ESP's and Ibanez guitars so I'm used to faster necks. I thought about maybe a Jackson RR Flying V but not a big fan of the Flying V body style. So I did some research and ran across the Eclipse model from ESP and saw the Delux model had a Floyd so that's what got ordered. Didn't realize it was a Floyd Rose 1000 Series. Never heard about those. I've used the FR Special before with no issues so hopefully this will work ok as well.

No, it's a gloss finish. I'm on the fence as to what to do about that. See if I get used to it or grab some sand paper or steel wool and take the gloss finish off. I don't own a Les Paul but I have a Zakk Wylde Bullseye Epi that I can compare it too. The neck is definitely thinner and it has 24 frets. It's more suited to reaching the higher frets to me anyway.
