So a while back I bought a Charvel 80's maple neck off Reverb. It was fairly cheap and not in the best shape, had some bumps and bruises but took a chance. It was missing tuner keys, but I had a spare set of locking Gotohs. I also own a Charvel HSS Sassafras MIM. Cool guitar but thought I'd try swapping necks, I think the Charvels just look with the old pointy headstocks. Fit like a glove, I didn't have to tweak the neck or adjust string height or anything. Came out great, plays better and the neck feels much better than the newer neck. Such a difference.
Maybe looks a little funny with the chrome tuners and rest of the hardware is black, but eh, it's custom now.
