Wow... And here I thought Armstrong was a pussy. Good for him. I do feel bad for that LP jr. though... :no:
 
Greenday is legendary. What bands can really hold on to that same lineup from day one and write killer music the whole journey? I call teh suck on the venue management.

I agree, the whole british singing thing is probably the gayest, most ridiculously retarded crap I have ever seen....seriously...W...T....F??? So fucking dumb...
 
I never liked Greenday but I like this! At least he isn't neutered like all the other alt-punk-boy bands.

What is so fucked up is that all the college age chics, say 80% of the ones in that crowd, we're just standing there. They don't like punk, rock, metal, or any guitar based stuff. They want rap or some urban shit....

So I am glad any kid plays any style of guitar. And god bless Nickelback for being out there playing rock and roll. It is so much better than Usher and WTF ever other crap.

Bottom line is this:

Usher's lip-synced, choreographed bullshit performance ran 25 minutes overtime. Rather than extend the entire show, they decided to cut green days set in half, to make room for more choreographed dance lip-synced garbage.

So one of the few acts of the night that actually played real instruments and sang with their actual voices, got shafted. Sad, because it shows what the masses really prefer nowadays.

Billy Joe Armatrong isn't a "kid with a guitar" either. The dude is 40. He's been at this game for a long time. He came from nothing, and paid his dues. Tours like a mofo. He's earned it.

And just because rock music has hooks, and is played in a major key, doesn't make it "pop" music. Listen to Bieber or Carly Rae Jepsom. That bullshit is pop. True, Green Day is not "heavy rock", but it's still rock. (and the dude has killer tone to boot...)

I'm totally on BJA's side here. F*ck Usher, and f*ck the suits that opted to cut Green Days set.
 
I love that whole pop punk genre!! Greenday, Blink 182,Sum 41, New Found Glory etc are friggin cool as hell to me. Fun, upbeat , melodic they appeal to me on a number of levels and Im not ashamed to admit it.

It doesnt have the same kind of impact as listening to my heroes etc but its fun none the less and most certainly has its place with me. Im not sure If BJ's rant was all that neccessary, the guy had to know about all that going in.

Agreed. I'm no huge GD fan (won't buy an album, but won't turn it off if it's on the radio either) but I think Armstrong's more than right to be pissed here. That's utter bullshit, and unprofessional on the part of the organizer, for that matter.

I'm glad he spoke his mind. It's not the audience's fault, as mentioned above, it's the venue/show management that should have had their nuts tied for this. Biggest thing is - so BJA says what he says - then within 10 minutes the next act comes out and it's all forgotten.

Plastic music for plastic people - not surprising, but hell yeah to BJA to speaking his mind... Guy's cut his teeth the real way, put in his time, and is - through and through - a touring rock musician along with a solid troupe of band members who've stayed the course.

Fuck fake music. Just fuck it and all the shitheads that go with it.
 
I guess this made alot of 12 year old girls moist. What a statement, what a showman. Nothing like crying like a bitch in front of thousands. Must be a real rush.
