Doctor Love
Geargasms is taking an extended break from doing any demos of Chinese gear from Chinese owned companies!! You know the ones, the ones who only sell on Amazon or Ali Express. Glarry, Donner, Vangoa, Firefly, Eart.
And it's not for the reason you may think it is!
Come join me for YouTube's funniest (only), best (only) Guitar Variety Show on YouTube. Musical Guest Manny Vox, Grind My Gear is a segment as well and for the first time "Yesterdaze News"
Please come celebrate mediocrity with the world's loneliest YouTube host.

He needs to try the 68 pedals clones. Top quality and sound exactly like the originals.... except at 1/3 of the price. (y)
That's not the point of the video but it is a valid point. Who makes them? A Chinese owned company? We all do realize that any Chinese company doing business in the US is an arm of the Chinese Communist Govt? :geek:

-like the computer or cellphone you drummed those YT video’s up on?
I’d be very careful typing Chinese too much pal.
The CCP ‘s firewall will mark you.

Like those clowns that attempted to sue the CCP
for the coronavirus.
Those attorneys all have somehow dissappeared,
-no magic trick there man.

I bet 90% of everything you own was made
in China INCLUDING YOUR UNDERWEAR.

Maybe it's time to push for a change? Yes?

Too many folks don’t want to pay more for their products due to higher labor rates in other places.
You are right, for most peoples the first point is the price.
Between the exactly same products made in country “A” and country “B “the difference is not only labor cost. Country “A” the components, materials in most cases purchase from local sources and Country “B” too. These components accoring the norms are identical, but in the reality there are small or not so small differences.

Example: According the technical norms the steel grade S355JR from Sweden and China is the same, but the Sweden production is much better quality because of cleaner iron ore and better production processes. Everything is about tolerances ( norms, quality, moral…)

I think it'd be difficult to stop buying things from China altogether (or from other totalitarian countries). The whole western economy is based on overseas slave workers. Eveything would be 10 times more expensive if built locally with proper regulations. That means everyone could afford only a tenth of what they own right now. The western way of life would be seriously challenged.

I deal with overseas suppliers at work. A few years ago I heard that Chinese labor rates were starting to go up a lot. Once all of the 3rd world labor rates have risen (if that ever happens) then there will be a more level playing field and production location will be based on things like quality and logistics rather than just cost.

The truth is, the things would be not much expensive, but the profits of big combanies would be 10 times less.

That is structurally not possible in our financial system. Stock exchange market would collapse to the ground, all banks would go bankrupt immediately, as would entire countries. Chaos and war would ensue without any doubt.

that's why we see more products being made in Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.
