Been looking for a Custom SH-5 chrome covered and nobody has one. Scoured Reverb, MF, and all the usual suspects. I went on to Seymour Duncan's website and it's not even offered? I even checked a couple other pickups, same thing.. No chrome. Didn't know this was a thing now? Guitars still come with chrome hardware, especially Gibson - depending on the model, nickel or chrome. I may have to do away with it and go zebra. Double creams would be great, but Dimarzio doesn't really do it for me, nor does Gibson's offerings.

I bought a Heritage H150 that came with '59s that sound good, but the bridge is too "round". The guitar reminds me of a 2013 LP Traditional that I bought back when they first came out that was non-weight relieved and fat neck that was stubborn with a woofy bridge pickup tone. This was when I first discovered the Custom, after trying several different pickups that tightened it right up. I just find it odd that chrome covered Duncans are extinct now...

Duncan's nickel is quite shiny, not to be confused with the raw nickel look that has gotten popular. It looks perfectly fine in a guitar with chrome hardware. I can't even remember when Duncan offered chrome covers as a regular option on pickups and I've been selling them for 32 years.

No matter how shiny, nickel right next to chrome is a clear mismatch. Nickel has warm, yellow hue while chrome is almost blue.
