While in the middle of a song my JVM 410h had a spaz attack. First the volume dropped to below half then nothing. Tubes are lit and hot but no sound. There was a popping noise coming from something but I have a pa and everything else hooked up . Please help if you can.

Please take it to a tech. I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but if you're asking what capacitors are and where to find fuses you have near nil chance of fixing it yourself, but quite a good chance of electrocuting yourself.

This is not a joke - do not poke around inside or even replace fuses (they blow for a reason).

Indeed, listen to Zen mate; he knows his stuff.

Plus, he's an Aussie so you know he's "fair dinkum" and not just "yankin' your chain".

could be a pre or power tube, plug your guitar into the return of the effects loop and see if you get sound. If you get sound that would be a preamp problem. Other wise could be a power tube. Did you check the fuses? If a fuse is blown I'm guessing it's a power section problem, either a bad power tube or screen resistor, etc.

This. I only had 1 issue at a gig; other than breaking strings lol. It was a Marshall VM that acted just as the OP described. Sound, then no sound or very quiet. It was a JJ pre tube the amp came with. We ended the set a little early, I ran home and grabbed some preamp tubes out of another amp and that fixed it.
Again, proving that modern tubes just aren't worth the risk, and my investing in a vintage tube stash over the years was huge. None of the vintage NOS/ANOS tubes have ever let me down.

I always pack a couple extra preamp tubes in my gig rig thanks to a tube going microphonic at a show many years ago. The tube was an old RCA on it's last leg. The nice thing about a Twin is you can rob tubes from other positions and still have a functioning amp.

I have probably a thousand gigs and rehearsals on JJ stuff without any failures in my current gigging '72. Using NOS just pushes my operating costs higher. It's the same reason I quit gigging with D-120's. Add two recone kits to my yearly operating costs. I know it sounds maybe like BS but I was riding the margins of profit already so everything counts. Once you are trying to eat using a guitar the whole gear thing takes on a completely different aspect. And I have some NOS stuff stashed but for local/regional gigs? No way.

Luckily I bought my tube stash LONG before the Covid price increases. And, I hardly ever bought NOS unless they were a steal. Mostly ANOS-used but still test strong. I bag on JJs but they've been the one modern tube that seems to come with most amps I buy; which are typically vintage Marshalls. Guys that sell usually replace the good pre/power tubes and put JJs in before shipping..I would too. Most recent example of new tubes failing was the MT 100 I bought...one of the TAD 6L6GC red plated within 2 days of getting it. Luckily it didn't take anything out other than a fuse. Put some 90s Sovtek military version 5881s in and no worries.
I stopped playing out 6 years ago; just can't stay out till 3am any more lol. Stop playing around 0145; tear down till 230, wait till the bartenders count the till and then by 3 get paid. No thanks. If I did gig again, I'd probably end up buying an FM 3 as my back doesn't agree with me anymore shlepping 412s in/out of my vehicle.

Man I still love gigging and getting home at 3:30 except the gig end times have mostly gotten much earlier than when I started in the late 90's. Midnight and 10 o' clock seem to be the latest gigs I get anymore now that I only take decent paying stuff. I hope to gig until I am dead, that would be truly living the dream to my mind. All the stuff most people hate about gigging is stuff I have grown to love. I really like seeing my downtown friends and then bailing out to the starry skies in the country after the gig. The best of both worlds. I feel like a pretty lucky guy tbh.

I'm looking forward to some rehearsing and recording today. I landed a sizable grant that is funding my record and a video and right now I am sitting on the best band I've ever had. so I'm pretty pumped up about it.
