Anyone tried this guitar? I just saw it for the first time on-line and it looks very interesting? I don't like the usual thin Ibanez neck though and wonder if it has a thicker/rounder neck rather than the typical wizard type on the RG's.

Noodles sig Ibanez

The super thin necks that people think of are the older RG neck that were 17 mm, I think. Recently, they're doing 19 mm or so. This one lists at 20 mm, so if you've recently played an RG and thought it's neck was too thin, this might bug you too.

Caveat is that while Ibanez lists the neck thickness, they don't indicate the shape or size of the "shoulders" of the necks, which vary pretty dramatically. Some have very thin shoulders, some have more rounded shoulders, and some feel like the shoulders are squared off like a 2x4.

Its hard to tell, but it definitely looks thicker than my early RG neck...even from the side, it looks super thin...

In addition, the radius is another thing you really need to look at. That is the "roundness" of the fretboard. For me, that is just as or more important as the thickness.

The Wizard neck has a 430mm radius. 240 is a pretty big difference if you ask me.

If you can find a Talman to try at guitar center that is the closest neck they have to the Noodles.

Talman 648mm/25.5" 41mm 56mm 21mm 22mm 240mmR
Noodles 648mm/25.5" 42MM 57MM 20MM 22MM 240MMR

Otherwise if you can not find a Talman try to find another comparable neck to try. I always go to wiki to find an ibanez that matches whatever guitar I am curious to try to compare.

Do they still make Talman's. I though they were long disco'd.

With the price of the guitar i may just order one and if i don't like it, return it.

Yeah, that's a decent signature model price! Amazon has them listed at $699. Did he or Dexter have any signature Ibanez models before this? I remember Dexter and Noodles used RGs early in their careers, then Noodles was usinb a few RGs and S-series, while Dexter used the Artist and RGs on and off...

I know Noodles played Talman's for a long time and had sig models before this one. I'm actually not an Offspring fan (like a few songs). I just came across the guitar on the Ibanez website and it fills a niche with the p-90's. I was looking for a TV yellow Junior for a while but cant find anything used but custom shop Gibson for big coin. Hoping to stumble upon a regular USA Junior but no luck. If the neck on this model is workable, it's probably a p-90 swap from glory.

What, no duct tape on this one? I remember seeing one of his Talman's at a guitar shop years ago thinking that was the dumbest thing you could do to a guitar. But that was just my close-mindedness thinking.

I used to own his duct tape looking model talman, it was awesome, I loved that guitar. Got stolen.
