young guitar usually has pretty cool lessons. but, I have never been a nuno fan, as a matter of fact, I would venture to go as far as say I don't like his playing, and that is rare for me, I usually find something good in someone's playing. I am sure you guys will riot after hearing this. I will admit I have not heard a lot of his playing. show me links to some killer playing.

The tone isn't that great because he's using a camera mic in a room with zero treatment. As for his playing, to each their own. More important than his chops and phrasing (which I think are killer) , is the fact that he WROTE the material he is playing. Not too many people have written the riffs that guy did through the first 3 albums. Keith richards isn't exactly the hottest lead player..but he wrote a lot of memorable riffs.

No he doesn't suck lol. Tone doesn't do justice to the playing in that example that's for sure. The room echos make his muted legato licks sound like a jumbled mess......No way the he man woman hater solo is simple lol....I'd like to see the original poster play that cleanly, or the blazing on smoke signals, intro to mutha, or many other examples. Pretty much agree with Kapo....dude can write some awesome riffs....and has some awesome phrasing and grooves in his lead lines as well. Listen to the original material if you love great guitar playing in that style. Dude has chops, fire, feel and inventiveness.

I think that album (and all of their albums) is full of killer playing. He just makes everything look so simple. He never just chugs away on power chords. Not a big fan of the tone in a lot of his lesson videos. Maybe because he's sitting beside the amp and and it sounds different to him in that position then what the camera picks up. It's usually super thin and bright.
