Had an Eventide pitch factor, thinking of moving on to a TC Electronic Nova system. how well does the pitch shifter track? Does it sound good?
I'm going to use it in the loop of a Kemper, so extra stuff like delays will be nice too, but main concern is that the pitch shifter works well and doesn't 'hunt' around for the note like some harmonizers do. Any info from users would be greatly appreciated.
i had the nova system for a while, the pitch shifter is pretty good, i was just using it for an octave up and an octave below stuff, but it did that nicely, i just wasn't particularly keen on how the effects sounded at least to my ears ,
when i was comparing, the verb on a TC hall of fame is a lot nicer and easier to dial in, on the nova system you've got a ton of extra settings for verbs with 5 basic types, i spent ages trying various settings and it wasn't bad for shorter verbs but longer/ambient stuff just didn't sound right, somewhat metallic,
i had a similar experience with the delays too, they're not bad by any means, but i much preferred a cheapo digidelay and it's various modes than those from the nova, i have a strymon as well that's a lot nicer
the modulation section was pretty decent
tbh i'd stick with the pitch factor if i were you, which is probably one of the best pitch shifting/harmonizing pedals money can get, and for extra delays/modulation/verb maybe separate pedals, you'd be downgrading imo
