Imagine Jimi, Marino, Trower, Humble Pie, type tunes and playing mixed with Living Color type vocals with tons of energy and GREAT, GREAT vocals and guitar playing and tones...then get Brian Kahanek's Suicide Kings.

As a rule I don't listen to vocal bands, but since this hit my car's CD player middle of last week nothing else has been played.
You got a guitarist that took the influences and made it his own, plus unlike his previous CD (which I really dug) he actually cuts loose, and makes it work in the song context.
But instead of waffling on about how great this CD is, I think the easiest way to describe my level of how much I dig it is...
I'm wanting to cover the opening track.
Pretty much an album I'd want to make if I'd work with a singer in a Rock band.
Brilliant!

A link to purchuse would help Ed and sound bites would be cool :)

I've still not bought Brian's CD, although I did listen to all the clips and I can tell that this CD is smoking all around. I absolutely love his sense of melody.

I remember Brian years ago, posting clips at HC. He is a great player...really nice feel.

That guys VHT Deliverance clip was one of the best internet audio clips i have heard.

He's a great guitar player but those songs are way too safe and ready to sell something at the mall or on a TV show/movie. No fire or balls...and I don't mean lack of distortion, I mean in the approach and attitude.

Compared to what? For my money it's just fine as it is. Does it have a Henry Rollins approach no, but then I don;t own any Black Flag or Rollins albums.

That's not what I meant at all. I don't mean in terms of heavy or fast or aggressive vocals. I mean in attitude, attack. For instance some of the funkier Stones tunes from the 70's have more attitude and are more "rock" to me because of the delivery, band and vocal alike. Same with some Black Crowes stuff. BK just sounds like he's making music for a demographic. I'd expect to hear it in an elevator.

After listening a little more I would say the vocalist bares the brunt of how I feel about it.

Oh crap....is this the Brian I met at NAMM at the VHT booth???

If so he is one of the nicest guys on the planet as well and very unassuming and humble.

What the hell, I need more material.

not to get off topic but...can someone explain this saying to me? i assume it's an older saying and i think i've heard it before but i have no clue what it means...well, from context i assume it's similar to rambling but why "waffling"?

I understand wat you're saying Trevor, but for me that doesn't sound that way. But then again I also stay away from vocal stuff as a rule. That said I dig this. That's all.
