Imagine Jimi, Marino, Trower, Humble Pie, type tunes and playing mixed with Living Color type vocals with tons of energy and GREAT, GREAT vocals and guitar playing and tones...then get Brian Kahanek's Suicide Kings.

As a rule I don't listen to vocal bands, but since this hit my car's CD player middle of last week nothing else has been played.
You got a guitarist that took the influences and made it his own, plus unlike his previous CD (which I really dug) he actually cuts loose, and makes it work in the song context.
But instead of waffling on about how great this CD is, I think the easiest way to describe my level of how much I dig it is...
I'm wanting to cover the opening track.
Pretty much an album I'd want to make if I'd work with a singer in a Rock band.
Brilliant!
not to get off topic but...can someone explain this saying to me? i assume it's an older saying and i think i've heard it before but i have no clue what it means...well, from context i assume it's similar to rambling but why "waffling"?
Actually it's likely this German guys having used the wrong term, the intent was "ranting" waffling is somebody that id undecisive.
awwwww...i see. i swear i've heard that before somewhere else. never really gave it much thought until just now tho. anyway...i'll be on my way now.

Oh crap....is this the Brian I met at NAMM at the VHT booth???

If so he is one of the nicest guys on the planet as well and very unassuming and humble.

What the hell, I need more material.
Yes and yes.

I should not speaking with you, pissed you are not going to be in NYC this fall.
Well, not Fretless Hang until next year...can't afford no vacation. :)

That's not what I meant at all. I don't mean in terms of heavy or fast or aggressive vocals. I mean in attitude, attack. For instance some of the funkier Stones tunes from the 70's have more attitude and are more "rock" to me because of the delivery, band and vocal alike. Same with some Black Crowes stuff. BK just sounds like he's making music for a demographic. I'd expect to hear it in an elevator.

After listening a little more I would say the vocalist bares the brunt of how I feel about it.
I understand wat you're saying Trevor, but for me that doesn't sound that way. But then again I also stay away from vocal stuff as a rule. That said I dig this. That's all.

Shit, Now I have to rethink that Barbershop Quartet rendition of the Three Tenors I was going to get you for Christmas
Oh yeah, I'm 37 years young on Friday

Yeah, that cat was one of the most attitude-less guys we ran into.

Brian is a great guy and a great player for sure. I wish him all the luck in the world.

Listening to the samples right now. I'd probably buy this just on the quality of his amp clips alone. The guy can clearly play.

Although Ed, I don't hear the LC vocals AT ALL. Not even sure where you're coming from there...
