I've been hemming and hawing over what board to get and how big. Well shit, it finally dawned on me that D'Addario's new expanding pedalboard might be what my indecisive mind needs.

I'm glad I made the choice. Assembly was 5 minutes with a drill and this board is rock solid. There is zero give or flex, even with the board fully extended. There is ample clearance underneath, it comes preloaded with velcro on both sides and the cable management clips it comes with make that hassle a breeze.

As I was laying out my pedals I instinctively left spaces open for things I know I'm adding soon, like a Phase 90 and Boss LM-2. Then I realized, there's no need. I loaded up the fixed segment with what I could, then started working from the opposite end which left a big gap in the middle. Release the latches (very sturdy BTW) and slide the board to shape. It seems like a bit of a hokey poke concept but the execution is really stunning. Even without the expansion gimmick this would be a great board, being able to give myself more room as I need it is just an advantage (and it's not just about adding extra pedals - sometimes you just need that extra inch).

Highly recommended.
