NPBD - So I finally got my pedalboard finished...

And I'm well happy with it!!!

After 10 months of planning, deciding finalising I can rest, at least till I need to replace something

I got it mainly to use in the studio and am still working on balancing the volumes and tones.

I can't say enough good things about the gigrig midi 14, if you haven't tried one highly recommended!
I midi switch the channels on my amp, bottom row, and individual pedals on the top row.

I like it, matches my sneakers

I interchange it with the Hartman Analogue Flanger sometimes for some variety although its a little finicky because of the different power requirements.

Not quite a ton but its heavy for sure, the case adds significant weight.

Total pedal weight (unmounted) - 11kgs/24 pounds
Total weight with case & snake - 37kgs/81 pounds

Actual pedalboard weight with pedals is reasonable for its weight and manageable for most people lifting correctly. I use a collapsable trolley to move everything around just to be safe.

Power distribution is via the gigrig GENERATOR. It's tucked away on the inside wall under the board.
It's universal power capable of 5AMPS which is enough to power 4 boards this size.
Small isolated patches from the generator allow for clean power to specific pedal voltages, this way you can add or subtract as many as you require and not have to compromise the amount of outputs unless space is an issue.

The snake only powers the pedalboard.

Although it looks like a nightmare to use & program it's the easiest thing I've ever used. My pedal settings are constant and the gigrig switcher does the rest, took me 2 hours to program with multiple pedal settings and amp changes via midi. Eliminated all the tap dancing and I have more fun playing with the band!

I do still use it, it is more of a purist type of pedal being that it is large, expensive & you can probably get quite close to it using something like a timeline
depending on your rig and types of music you play it does add a little warmth to the sound

i originally came from a rothwell love squeeze and had tried a mxr dyno comp prior to getting this
i can say for cleans to light gain it has a transparency I admire.

other notable comps are the carl martin limiter/compressor
your power requirements may dictate what you choose if specific voltages and space are an issue

How does the effectrode comp work with guitars with humbuckers? I love my diamond comp, but don't like it so well with a humbucker equipped guitar.

It started off as a hobby that evolved into this.
My gear far surpasses my ability as a guitarist...for me I enjoy tinkering with sounds and little boxes,
so it keeps me inspired. Not the most practical board! Lol but fun nonetheless.

I think of this board as more like guys who are into hotroding cars..im just into pedals

How does the effectrode comp work with guitars with humbuckers? I love my diamond comp, but don't like it so well with a humbucker equipped guitar.

To be honest I mainly use humbucking guitars and I have 1 p90 equiped guitar.
What I've found is depending on the way the pickup is voiced, ie how open sounding it is, you can squish it to your desired compression.
The Pc2a comp works well with my WCR Godwood in the bridge and WCR crossroads in the neck, I don't fancy it as much with my BKP Rebel Yells for heavy rhythms as its already a little compressed. For leads though it's a different story and quite the opposite in high gain. So depending on your application it has its strengths.

With the p90 it sounds lush for a better word, I can only imagine single coils..will get around to it eventually when I quit turning knobs!
