Been wanting to get some cool analog chorus action going...

Japan Ibanez CS-9 and Boss CE-2.

I was able to grab these pedals over the couple of weeks and they are both unbeeibably in 9.5/10 condition, like super-duper clean.

I grabbed the CS-9 first, and then Dave Friedman suggested that I get a CE-2 in my chorus thread and was lucky enough to find one local on Craigs list from a keyboard player who had it sitting in his closet since the early 90's. The thing looks amazing for it's age.

The Boss is super sweet with gain, very smooth. Ibanez is really awesome under gain just a bit more in your face.

Clean tones are hard to beat with the ibanez, the Boss is awesome just more sublte in comparison...

Both pedals are great and total keepers, the CS-9 is a little stronger effect and gives a slight boost when engaged.

Need to get a keely bypass pedal or one control blender pedal to get them out of my path in the loop when not using them now.

Both are great pedals. Congrats.
I have the Ibanez flanger and that's a great pedal as well.

ya i was thinking about grabbing a flanger too... might look into that one.

Congrats on some nice chorus pedals, big fan of the Ibanez CS-9. Never tried a CE-2 though :(

Where are you running the chorus pedals in your chain, just curious?

Right now until i get a Keeley true bypass loop or one control blender pedal I am only using one pedal at a time in my at a time in my FX loop... actually the ibanez seems to work good when by passed, but I can hear a little tone change with the Boss when it is off. The Keeley true bypass or one control blender will fix that right up.

Funny I was looking at getting the CS-9 and or CE2   I ended up with the Strymon.

The CS-9 is suppose to be the same as the 400EU 405EU units. I had the 405??? with Comp,Chorus,Para eq,flange/phase. The other has an overdrive on it inlace of the comp. I really like the Chorus and Comp from those units.

I believe the CE-2 is what Eric Clapton used in the 90's with his SLO :D

Congrats

I have an Ibanez Flanger/Chorus as well, but mine is one of the Tone-Lok pedals. It's been a great chorus, but after 15 years of kicking it, it just recently stopped working.

I've been thinking about getting a Dunlop Super Chorus, but it didn't sound as deep as my Ibanez pedal.
