Ok, found my deal on some pistols. Trying to find a decent deal on mags. Looking at CZ mags compatible with P07 (15-18) and Walther 18’s for the PDP compact.

Nice! You landed them!

Check Ben Stoeger's pro shop. I'm seeing 17 rounders for 35.49 each 15 rounds 32 each. I don't know if those are good prices or not but they've given me excellent service in the past. Pretty much a go-to place for tanfoglio and CZ custom goodies and extended mag baseplates.

I’ve only found prices in the 40’s so definitely checking that out. Shot them for the first time today and was such the gentleman I let my Wife go first, so she popped the Walther’s cherry and I took the innocence of the CZ…lol

Do yourself a favor and find some +5 baseplates. Not cheap but I am glad I put a few mags together with them. A great feeling knowing you have 22 shots of 9mm and a weaponlight at your disposal when things go bump in the night. Congrats on your new tools. Sounds like you got a good wife, getting her to do some shooting with you.

I ordered some of those CZ mags, still trying to figure out compatibility for the Walther and the internet is being a little contrary. I’d be willing to eat Walther cost from their site if it was a few bucks more but they’re charging 70 plus for their mags…Wife, she’s a trooper. It’s all new to her and I’m not exactly seasoned myself but now that we’ve had guns in the house for a minute she wants to be comfortable with them and safe. So she knows the best way is to shoot and handle them. We’re big on the responsibility of safety but getting proficient as well. We don’t have kids so at least we don’t have to worry about storage. I can keep them easily accessible. Well, unless the dog develops a grudge..?

Christ, I just thought of the rabbit hole of lights. Gotta sort that out before I can get a holster. Probably only going to get a light for one of them…..who am I kidding! Two lights! ?

My recommendation is streamlight for a reasonable priced light. I put a TLR on mine and its pretty dang nice. I wanted to and regret not getting the model with the added laser, I think it has real benefit for HD use. But by the time I had the pistol, the mags, the extended baseplates, and some ammo the regular flashlight was all I could afford.

You're pretty much hosed finding a holster that fits either of those with a weaponlight, but good luck on the search anyhow. Maybe. About the only advantage of buyiing a glock, holster selection, which is about as exciting as your wife's new tupperware collection, lol. I just bought a condor drop leg that was adjustable for home carry and will fit a full size with a light. Not a bad holster really. I do have a kydex holster but it don't fit it with the light.

The stretchy holsters are comfortable for sure, but I'd certainly train with it. If the retention on the kydex is adjustable, you'll have to find the sweet spot between being able to get your weapon out of it with minimal movement of the belly section vs having the weapon fastened securely enough to accommodate rapid and vigorous movement without an issue. Ive got both and prefer the rigidity of a belt in belt loops for drawing, but they are not as comfortable and are easier to spot. I tend to choose based on the clothing I'd be wearing. Although we are open carry where I live, I never open carry. Why anyone would want everyone in the room to know they are armed does not make any sense at all to me...

VB is right about the holster selection, finding anything other than a Glock, sig, 1911 or SW/MP is gonna be tough with a light attached, much less with a light/laser combo. I don't like lasers on pistols. If you get into a high stress situation, you'll be glad you have one less thing to do before getting your weapon into a fighting position. I hate nylon holsters, nothing but kydex for me. Nylon gets flimsier over time and can get dangerous if it gets too flimsy as far as holstering a weapon with a round in the chamber. I was shooting long distance at Altus one day and they had a noobie pistol class going on at one of the nearby pistol bays, one of the guys shot himself in the leg holstering his pistol into a fit-all nylon holster. We had to shut down the entire facility and prep him for medivac so he didn't bleed out before the helicopter arrived. ( Medivac won't land on a hot range )

I do love red dots, but I would likely not CC one

I actually found some Walther mags on there and had ordered them when I ordered my CZ mags (from Stoegers). Took them almost a week to ship though, for in stock items.
Yeah, them and PSA are unusually slow to ship.
