Well I went in for some strings, saw the jeckyll and hyde was on clearance for only $100 new vs their normal $150 (I've seen them going for more used on craigslist lol) and thought this could be cool for my little rivera era super champ setup. I really like the lead channel for leads on the super champ but for rhythms it's a little round and compressed at times. Only figured out I could have two footswitchable lead volumes recently on it which is really cool.

But, after trying it at practice it sounded great for leads and still not quite right for rhythms although the switchable volumes is great. I generally don't like pedals for rhythm sounds but so far this thing seems pretty cool actually. And for $100 new and can return it if it doesn't work at rehearsal... had to try it :D So far sounds very good, the overdrive seems very comparable to my maxon 808 perhaps a bit better, distortion is good too. Can't really know until I crank it up and see how the gain holds up at volume, which is where I usually don't like pedals for rhythms but we'll see how it sounds at rehearsal :rock:

The J&H are nice pedals. My buddy has the silver V1 J&H and its a solid pedal, I like the J side better, but the H does pretty good too. The J side hangs wit my Maxon OD-808 and OD-9 for sure.
 
...Also Mesa hollywood is closed on sundays so will have to check out the ep booster later this week (I live right by all of these places) :lol: :LOL:
 
I have had one for the past 6-7 years, great pedal.
 
Congrats! Very nice sounding pedal. Had a V1 (actually two) and while it sounded great, it was noisy to the point that they were unusable, so I ditched it. I've heard they fixed that problem with the newer version though.

Yeah there's a built in noise gate on this one you can turn off but I like it on so far. There's also an internal trimmer for the bass on the distortion side, ideally both of those would be accessible without taking the pedal apart though. Still... seems like a lot of pedal, esp for the price.
 
So after playing this thing a bunch, I think I've got it dialed for a really good rhythm tone on the hyde side and then a great lead sound when I kick on the jeckyll on top, can't wait to try this thing with the band on Wed :thumbsup:
 
So... this thing sounded really good last night, I think I'm probably keeping it. Drummer recorded rehearsal but hasn't sent me the files yet. I just scored a little powered skb board w gig bag from some guy off CL for $45 (new $169.99) and he even threw in another crybaby (though I already have one, but still). Should be a nice little grab 'n go board :D (I still need to velcro it up etc. but gotta head to work)

Not the same as a marshall or my bogner etc. for rhythm but better than expected and with some more tweaking I think totally useable. Lead tones with both just the jekyll or both jekyll and hyde were great.
 
Finally tried this little board into my bogner on the plexi channel... actually very cool tones. Rhythm tones are not surprisingly better through the bogner and 4X12 ;)
