Well I went in for some strings, saw the jeckyll and hyde was on clearance for only $100 new vs their normal $150 (I've seen them going for more used on craigslist lol) and thought this could be cool for my little rivera era super champ setup. I really like the lead channel for leads on the super champ but for rhythms it's a little round and compressed at times. Only figured out I could have two footswitchable lead volumes recently on it which is really cool.
But, after trying it at practice it sounded great for leads and still not quite right for rhythms although the switchable volumes is great. I generally don't like pedals for rhythm sounds but so far this thing seems pretty cool actually. And for $100 new and can return it if it doesn't work at rehearsal... had to try it
So far sounds very good, the overdrive seems very comparable to my maxon 808 perhaps a bit better, distortion is good too. Can't really know until I crank it up and see how the gain holds up at volume, which is where I usually don't like pedals for rhythms but we'll see how it sounds at rehearsal
