Yes, the Angel Dust should help this. The AD does have an emphasis in the low mids with crisp strong but not thin high end. Lots of mids in this pickup. I have not found the AD to be farty at all in two of my guitars both Alder bodied. I might be selling an over-wound AD soon since I am putting in the under-wound AD one I have laying around in my Charvel. The AD does have an emphasis in the low mids, but the over-wound one I have has slightly more exaggerated upper mids compared to the regular AD. I do have it in an Alder bodied Charvel with Floyd/Big Block.
You also might want to check out the Nasty Nasty. It is similar to the Detroiter, but tighter.
