Got my hands on a Suhr Riot last week. Finally had the chance to mess with it this weekend.
Wow. The hype is true. True I tells ya! I have a Budda SD 45 and this little pedal is now my high gain channel. Running it through the clean channel with just a little bit a hair on it, not super clean but not too distorted either, bout half on the gain on that channel.

I like it better than the Budda gain channel, has tighter bass, more gain, sustain, just a little bit more modern sounding. Suddenly turned the Budda into a 3 channel monster. I have a gig this weekend and I will check it out in a live situation and see how it cuts throught the mix. I usually don't review gear until I gig with it, but this thing seems to be a monster!

Funny thing is, the purple on this pedal almost perfectly matches the purple on the Budda faceplate, kinda like they were made for one another?

CSB?

It's a great pedal!
I was lucky enough to get mine when they first came out and I still love it

I'd like to hear this pedal through an old school Marshall Plexi or JMP set semi clean. You could probably use it to part the Red fucking Sea ala Chuck Heston.

It sounds awesome through Marshalls and Fender Tweeds.

I've got one coming from The Mad Ape this week to go with my Koko Boost!

It should look awesome next to my purple Budda wah, too! Suhr hit an absolute home run with both of those pedals, IMO.

I am sooooooo stoked to get my hands on that little purple box o' win & rock the shit out of it!

The Shiba Drive is excellent as well
I have a little Suhr pedal collection going on. I can't wait for his compressor and chorus

I really don't need a drive/distortion pedal, but bugger me I'm having a very difficult time resisting the urge to grab a Riot pedal.
HNPD!

Oooooooooh... he's doing a compressor & chorus, too? :inlove:

I'm becoming such a Suhr fanboi! :aww:

I certainly don't need one either, but just the thought of having that extra option to play with on top of my clean channels is just too irresistible for me. Probably because I'm also such a degenerate pedal whore!

I've been reeeeally impressed with The Mad Ape, their turnaround time is superhumanly fast and they've answered e-mails I've sent them just as quickly. I'm also GASing for that damn Korina SE because of you, btw! You've gotta hook us up with some clips of it through the Peters when ya get it!

and i read from a few places that the chorus will be a 3 footswitch/larger enclosure with lots of features.

EDIT: "The large enclosure stomp will have three footswitches – two for user presets and one for tap tempo. The pedal will be a digital/analog hybrid capable of lush chorus effects and rotary speaker simulation. Look for it later this year." :)

I know the feeling!
I'm such a pedal and pickup whore myself.
And yep, The Mad Ape are great to deal with.

:D
Will do man.
I'm gonna be replacing the pickups though, coz I'm super keen to have a BG Hellabucker bridge and a Motor City Hell Baby neck in one of my guitars.
The PRS SE Korina looks like the perfect candidate.

Oh no... GAS explosion!!!
Glad I waited before pulling the trigger on the Wampler Nirvana Chorus.
Definitely gonna check out this Suhr Chorus pedal.

Aside from the awesome tone, the build quality is excellent too. Just from stepping on the switch and turning the knobs, you can tell it's way superior to the average mass produced box. The guy's at Suhr hit this one out of the park. I may never use the OD channel on the Budda again!

how does it handle clean boost duty? Or would that sort of be defeating the point of the unit?

Reason I ask is that with the rare exception of wanting to boost the snot out of my JTM45 every now and then, I only use my OD's for clean boost on an already fairly saturated lead channel on the amp.

I've actually never tried it as a clean boost but that would defeat the purpose, imo.
I use the Riot as the main gain into a clean amp, then clean boost it with one of the many OD's I have.

This. It's got too much balls for a clean boost. It might sound great with a TS9 or similar in front of it, giving it a little more oomph.
