Finally got round to putting the genuine BL L500XL in my Nuno N4 today...that $70 paperweight has been sat doing now't for almost 5 months...and I've been making do with a TB14 (or was it 15... ;) )

My original complaint about the stock BL USA was teh fizz0rs and little lacking in oomph....the new pickup really has less fizz (under my massive amounts of gain covering inadequacy) smoother mids (esp. compared to the SD pickup...which was ugh, a little scooped and harsh) and in addition it's quieter so

The genuine Bill and Becky L500XL is a KILLER pickup!!

I have owned both the BLUSA and the Bill and Becky L500XL, which i ordered direct from them. Bill and Becky's version sounds killer, and has no fizz whatsoever. It doesnt have that annoying cocked wah tone all the time like the BLUSA did.

Very cool pickup

I don't care what Mr. Wjacko says, the BL USA pickup fecking sucks, in my opinion, of course.

The Bill and Becky pickup is of GREAT quality, but a tad bit hot and bright for me. I mean, it brings the Pantera like nothing else, but I prefer more Aldrich-like pups 95% of the time.

Ya, I've got a couple L500's around that they gave me to try, but the high end was just too grainy sounding for me. Very hot, and great harmonics but not it for me.

Those blade-style pickups, whether it be BL, bill and becky, the dime model...

I dunno. I guess I just don't *get* them. They all sounds like scratchy and steely when I play them.

But, Nuno makes it sound pretty good. so it can't be all bad. haha

I can sort of hear what you mean..but it's going to depend on the guitar and player isn't it...

All I know is the B&B >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BL USA tone wise and the wait wasn't even that long considering they are made to order generally... I was expecting months and got mine in just over 2 weeks
