NUGD! (New Used Guitar Day) Some David Gilmour love

New Used Guitar Day! I'm a closet Pink Floyd and David Gilmour fan and so is the wife. Been wanting to get the Gilmour Fender "Black Strat" but it's way out of my price range. Happen to run across this little used number at my local shop and mentioned it to the wife and she went in half with me. I'm buds with the owner so got it for a steal.

Changed out the pickups to the EMG Gilmour set. His black Strat has the white single coil Duncans but I'm a EMG guy for the most part so I figured why not. Got some vintage white knobs and even found a custom short trem bar like his. Not a perfect replica but close and fits my playing style and preferences. I'm ready for a Floyd tribute. LOL! Anybody catching one of his shows in the states next year? My wife and I are flying to New York in April to see him at Madison Square Garden. Can't wait.

That's awesome. I've always loved that guitar. I've been thinking about doing a quasi version of that with a 7 string.

Oh man I wish. Couldn't afford that. No, it's a Made in Mexico Strat. But I'm really impressed with the feel of it. Maybe my guitar guy did a really good setup on it or it's just got a nice neck.

Yeah. Not a fan of the newer stuff, but i can tell what he's trying to do. Bottom line is, he does no wrong.
