NWOBHM most lopsided guitar duel

I don't know if this qualifies as the most lopsided duel. Listen to the Steeler album with Yngwie. Ron Keel takes a couple of solos on that one.

You have Yngwie in your band, you're the singer and you take a guitar solo? If you're anywhere near a halfway compentent guitar player I could see maybe taking a shot, but anyone who has been playing guitar for a year could have played what Ron palyed easily and probably better.

I know singers are supposed to have an ego but damn!

A man's got to know his limitations, Clint always said.

That comment and the mental picture made me laugh out loud.

That duel was definitely one sided. In playing, tone, everything.

can someone be sonically neutered? :D

did he ever discuss those tygers days with you? there had to be some classic stories.
kinda like when i asked fonzie about potsie's singing segments on happy days... :scared:

i can probably still play that first "take it" break by memory, but that second one would take some serious practice to get it nails with the right attitude...those solos on that record definitely helped shaped the way i approach tasteful yet aggressive accelerated blues based european lead playing. he and gary moore really knew how to pack a solo with massive feel.

schenker and uli were killers too but more verbose lengthy soloists with that classical violin dramatic storytellers versus delivering a knockout punch in 30 seconds or less....
