Hi guys, this is my last go at this. I will bother you no longer.

So I have an Octa Mk3 and a Decimator G string. I want my OCD, BD2 and fuzz in front of the amp, and I want the rest to go via the effects loop.
But I want to incorporate the G string for noise reduction.

Here's where I'm coming unstuck.

I have had the G String sorted previously with some via front and others in the effects loop, no issue. But never combined with
an Octa Swicth. The Octa switch requires a dedicated loop for "some through front, some through effects loop" which I understand. But I don't know how
to bring the Decimator G string into all of this honoring the integrity of some through front, others via effects loop, plus overall noise reduction at the same time.

So I have a photo. My half done new board, the G String instuctions and the Octa instructions. I'll have a crack at this myself no worries, but thought I'd ask for some feedback first.
Any thoughts will help. Thanks in advance.

Tried to post photo (under 2mb) got this message:"Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached"

Too hard to do anything here, moving on.

Can a mod please help me out here before I move on. REALLY this is the weirdest forum I have ever been on. Can't delete posts, can't add pics and so on. Very strange.

I've never used the Octa Switch but I think I understand what you're trying to do.

First off, you probably have this but here is the manual which shows several example wiring diagrams: https://carlmartin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/manual-octa-switch-mk3.pdf

I may be missing the point here but if you are going to place the Decimator in one of the loops, wouldn't you just keep that dip switch turned on for the presets that you want it to be active whether it's in front or in the loop?

Is the problem that you want to run the gate in the front and the loop simultaneously? (I think that's how the G-string is meant to be run, no?) You could keep it in a separate switchable looper like the GigRig Remote Loopy 2 and trigger it with one of Octa's external switching jacks so you're not using two of the loops on the Octa for the gate.

Finally, you could keep the gate outside of the switcher altogether and just keep it on or manually kick it on/off but I'm assuming you don't want to do that.

You can delete posts using the blue X in the lower right corner. As far as posting pics here, the best and easiest way is to use an image hosting site like photobucket and copy/paste the link to your pics. That's pretty much how it is on all the forums I frequent.
:)

Thanks glassjaw7 for the reply.

Yes I have all the manuals. That is actually what is confusing me......haha!

Yes, I do want run the gate in the front and in the loop simultaneously. And yes that's how the G-string is meant to be run. And YES that EXACTLY is what I'm having a problem with.

I don't want banks, I don't want programming. I don't want GigRig.

I just want to dedicate one loop on the Octa (as you can see in the manual) to my effects loop on my amp and combine the Decimator with it. Allowing dirt via front, and modulation via the loop.

I'll go to Photobucket to post (have an account) images. I don't get why this forum has an option to attach images that does not work?

Hmm, it seems so simple but now I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that one.

Thanks, I don't feel so alone now.

So I have my 2 x OD pedals + fuzz in loops 1,2 & 3. I have loop 4 as my effects loop (front of amp for 1, 2 & 3) all good.

I have the Decimator G-string with guitar in, guitar out, decimator in, decimator out. I need to put this into loop 4 (somehow)....

I stupidly did not post in the title Decimator G STRING. I'm not sure how to change the title.
I'm also sorry for late reply, it's winter here in Australia and I have been sick for the past 4 days.

OK pics:

Well I guess nobody gives a shit. That's cool cause on other forums despite lots of suggestions no one else has an answer either. At least they tried. It's a mystery then. Stuff it I'm just gonna put the whole lot through the front. Not how it should be but over waiting.

your probably right nobody gives a shit! have a great day! Come back when you need some more help, because that is what we do here!

Contact Carl Martin ask them. They are quick to respond
