Hi all,
Need some help in getting an OD-pedal for the clean channel on my Bogner Atma.
The channel does not have a complete EQ, just a tone-knob that kinda changes the character of the sound from Blackface to Tweedy. The channel also has a 3-pos bright switch to give some extra options.
Now the clean channel sounds great, but since I don´t play anything that is pure and clean, I would like to get a pedal that makes this channel shine the way I want.
Ok, so as of now I have tried to run a Carl Martin Plexitone on it. And that didn´t work at all. Since the Plexitone also lacks a "real" 3-band EQ it just produces way to much boomy/bassy gain. Putting the bright switch to bright kinda takes that away, but then the tone gets awfully schreeky. I was considering modifying the pedal to have an EQ, but I just don´t have the skills.
Im thinking of trying a XTS Atomic Overdrive, since it has a 3-band EQ, or maybe the Bogner Ectasy Red.
What are your thoughts, anyone experienced something similar (amp with just tone)?
Appreciate any advice...

/ Richard

How about an eq pedal?

Yes that´s an option, but then I would like to have the EQ integrated in the OD-pedal to limmit the ammount of foot switching. Thats why Im thinking of a pedal like either Bogner Ectasy, XST Atomic, or maybe something else. Would be nice if it didn´t cost 300$ so im looking at the used market.

So if anyone have a similar experience (a channel with only tone) and have found a great OD then just let me know

XTC Blue pedal, very versatile, from very low OD to gainier sounds plus a boost. Its got the Bogner voicing so it souns right. I use one with my Bogner Duende, sounds killer

Yep, the Blue is interesting as well, must check it out.

Got hold of a an Ectasy Red, hope it will work ok.
Thanks for all your help!
Will let you know.

Ok a quick recap since I just got the pedal.

Bogner Ectasy pedal was the answer. I belive either the blue or red would have done the trick, with the blue beeing more of a blues/rock overdrive. Running the Red on the clean channel (with the bright switch on bright) turned the clean channel to a overdriven plexi/brown and It just scream classic Eddie with a modern twist. I love it!! I now feel that I have not just 3 great channels, but 5. Standard Clean/Crunch/Solo, the Ectasy and the boost. If there is anything I would have liked it´s kicking in the boost on the Ectasy without having to activate the OD first (as a clean boost). The pedal really has that Bogner sound, so I think you really have to like that type of distortion to appreciate the pedal.

Thanks for all the tips :)
