Looking for a quality mic stand.

I would prefer tripod, not against the heavier rounded bases...but they load akwardly in the car on top of stuff....

I need it to be well balanced when extended, as I have a double mic clip that I use two mic's on for talk box purposes. My current board is 39x18....and when I set a mic stand to the side and extend the boom, its too top heavy...and of course club floors are never clean enough for tape to stick to.

So...I just got a Liquid Foot+12+ which is about 6" smaller than my previous GCP. so...I'll probably be downgrading my board's footprint into something smaller, so I'm not necessarily so concerned about the extension/weight aspect....though it will be awhile before I can get the new board.

I've read reviews on GC/MF sites and such, and no matter the price of the stand, there are always the "best stand ever made" vs "this stand is cheap and obviously made in Korea, dont buy it". Which makes it harder to purchase.

I would prefer not to spend more than $50-$60....but will consider anything.....

So....any options? Am I being too picky?

Check Sweetwater or Musians friend. They both have a huge selection and variety

I suggest buying a quality mic stand. I break down and set up my mic stand 2 or 3 times per week. I went through a couple of cheap mic stands. It really helps to have a good one, because the cheap ones will wear out over time if you set up and break them down the way all the time. It goes the same for music stands too. Buy the best ones you can afford.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I've been using an On Stage stand for years now, and I need something better. I have my sampler clipped on to it with stand, and a stereo mic adapter for my mic and my kazoo. It's getting to be a mess to set up, but it's been reliable so far. I think I need something with a heavier base.

i agree....on another forum they suggested a Tama stand....but its $99....and thats a bit out of my league for a stand. While another poster suggested an Amazon link....the reviews on there, again, are all over the board....so I tend to not trust them. It's always the "greatest stand made" vs "this stand is complete junk, I returned it after using it once" no matter what price people pay for them, whether its a $20 or $70 mic stand....

I trust the opinions of 'most' people here, lol......so wanted to know if anyone had a brand/model I could look into other than the GC/MF/Amazon special....

Amazon did have a pretty decent special on a 4 pack, with a carrying bag for like $80 or something....at least when one would break I'd have another....lol
