I understand that the rod-adjust is 'classic Charvel'...but it's just dumb. I mean, they got that walnut plug at the nut, would a hole look that different? The wolfgang style sprocket on the CS Charvels is cool too.

Love the guitars. Have 3, want 20 more. But it's dumb.

Agree on all points. Spoiled by my EBMMs

Wow. I really thought I wanted one until reading this thread. That is one of the worst design decisions I have heard of in a long time.....

Do you guys adjust your truss rod after every song or something? I never had to mess with any of mine once they are set-up, even way before the cheaper Charvels came out.

I agree. I have my friends set up the truss Rod once and it's fine. Never had a problem ;)

I agree that the EB is way easier to setup and a better idea but Ive never had to set the truss rod up more then once in a blue moon lol

I actually like to tweak mine in the middle of songs.....
I stop the set.....make everyone wait about 15 minutes.....
to make sure its JUST RIGHT! ;)

Hey.......perfect intonation is key.

Geez it's not brain surgery,I've had to tweak mine once.
No biggie.

Real men play Bark at the Moon, not by changing chords, but by adjusting the truss at high speed. Taking the neck off between each note, makes the song more tricky.

Yeah, once set up, mine have been pretty stable, even through the changing weather. Still, it makes changing tuning, or string guage a bummer.

I live in the desert baby. I have my guitars set up and never touch them again. It's been a decade with my #1 Stratocaster and I've never touched it. Straight as an arrow.

In Michigan with the weather always changing EVERY DAY......

I usually give them a good set up in the spring and its good for the year.
Sometimes no adjustment needed pending how bad the humidity is/was.

I grew up in Flint (Swartz Creek). Lived there for 21 years.

I never had much of a problem in Michigan either. I don't remember ever setting up a guitar in my 7 years of playing the guitar there. Of course my buddy owned a guitar shop and he built my custom Strats so maybe he was tweaking them and never told me.

Wow....thats in my backyard.
I am up in Bridgeport.
Not too many problems with setups.
When I moved out to AZ out of highschool back in 89 I took my guitar with me and it needed a set up BAD when I got in the desert.

Every city has a different elevation, humidity, temp... all of which seem to make a slight difference in relief and tuning.
I give my guitars about 30 min on stage in a stand when loading in and setting up. Right before sound check I'll check the tuning, overall if it's sharp or flat, a quick minor adjustment to the truss rod brings everything right instantly.
No need to unlock the nut or mess with the trem setup. Just seems to be the fastest, easiest, bestest way to deal with changing environments.

If I bought one of these, and I have been very interested, I would retrofit the truss rod nut with a wheel and put the little cutout in the end of the fingerboard for sure.

I have my action slammed (ask Digijams) so any minor change in the truss rod causes issues. My SoCals have been pretty stable, but my 'stability champ' is the quarter sawn neck on my EJ strat, have had to adjust it ONCE. Then again, the super thick finish on the fingerboard and neck is probably why... I could probably play it in my swimming pool and it wouldn't affect it.
