Looking at a high end guitar that is made from okoume. I thought it was mahogany, and that's what I wanted. Will I be disappointed??

I not exactly like mahogany but has a very similar grain pattern as I understand it. I have a modern satin which is okoume and I would say it retains a lot of the chunky low end character of mahogany but has a bit more top end to to it. I really dig the tone of the modern satin also, I am using a set of thornbuckers in that guitar which are less compressed than the normal suhr pickups so that might help a little with the tone I'm describing.

Tone of ay species IME varies widely from guitar to guitar, so IMHO is really just doesn’t matter except for aesthetics, weight, and durability. It sure looks like mahogany and presumably is weighs about the same and will wear similarly.
