I have recently acquired a Bassman 10 in killer, killer shape. I have taken it over from a friend who acquired it with a 74 mustang bass in NOS condition for the whole package price of 200 bucks!
Anyway, I replaced the fuse on the amp since the amp would not turn on, and right away I notice one of the tubes red plates and there is a decently loud hum when the amp is off standby. you can still play through it, but the hum is pronounced.
I tried new tubes and the red plating still occurs with the new tubes, too, so now I'm not sure where to look next.
any ideas?
