My 1979 JMP has the old style selector, which can select 110v, 120v, 200/210v, 220/230v, 240v/250v.

Im in the UK, so do i need the setting on 220/230v or 240/250v?

Also, the HT fuse is a 1Amp/250v and the mains fuse is a 5Amp/250v. Do they need to be changed at all when i set the voltage selector on UK voltage?

IIRC you should run your amp at 220 in the UK but Ive never heard about changing the fuses. I wonder if olaf is around

Already PM'd him bro!

I just wondered because every old Marshall JMP i used that was originally a UK model had the 2.5A Mains fuse and the 500mA HT fuse. All the american Marshalls i have had, had the 4 or 5Amp mains fuse and the 1Amp HT Fuse..

Im not sure but it seems as if the US fuse values are higher and Id think that it would be the other way being that the voltage is doubled in the UK lol!

with that said, ive never heard of the fuse values being different. This is definitely news to me!!

Yeah, i checked a few manuals for various other Marshalls too and it seems that the US models all have higher value Fuses and the UK models seem to have fuses of half that value.

I just wana know for sure before i turn on the amp.. :scared:

Firstly check your heater voltage. The closer you get to 6.3Volts, the better. Normally thats for you the 240V setting, but try it - it depends on the age of your filter caps (yes, if the HT may suck a lot of add. amperes that will affect the PT in general which affects the heaters voltage).

HT Fuses:
2 EL34: 500mA
4 EL34: 1 A

230/240V Mains: 2A - never use more than 3.15A

All fuses slo blo

C'mon Dan! Crank that bitch up! We want a full report
