Finally got tired of screwing around, gonna do it up right

I'm still having nightmares from when I got on the waitlist for the "II". LOL! My hand still hurts from hitting "F5" so many times on my keyboard waiting for one to open up. :)

I love my "II" and think eventually I'll move up to the "III". So many great tones.

Do you know if tbey are still using "scenes" within presets? Also do you know if they cut down the latency/gap between presets?

yes.. scenes still there, now they have channels that inside blocks... so you can have on one amp block 4 channels, and those can be set per scene, etc. same with other blocks like drive, reverb etc. there is no gap on channels, and no real gap i can hear on scenes so far.

So you could use 4 amps within one scene/preset?

What about the mfc101... will they work with the 3?

They increased the processing power by a wide margin, here's their opening statement in their description:

The original Axe-Fx upended the industry by being the first device for musicians to put a military/industrial-grade DSP into a consumer product. Leveraging the power of this DSP allowed detail and realism that no other product had previously achieved. The Axe-Fx II expanded on this concept by putting two of those same DSPs to work. Continuing the legacy of this philosophy the Axe-Fx III harnesses the power of no fewer than four separate processors.

Two 1.0 GHz, floating-point “Keystone” Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) comprise the main audio engine. These processors are the most powerful DSPs available delivering over twice the performance of the DSPs used in our previous generation products. To feed these advanced processors we coupled 4Gb of blazing fast PC1600 DDR3 memory, hundreds of Mb of FLASH memory, a proprietary FPGA and a rich set of peripherals.

The stunning color display is controlled by a dedicated graphics processor while USB traffic and user interface tasks are handled by a 500 MHz, 16-core microcontroller providing smooth operation and robust USB performance.

THIS EMAIL CONFIRMS WE HAVE RECEIVED YOUR REQUEST. We'll notify you immediately when your name comes to the top of the list. Because there are many variables, we are not able to estimate how long the wait for a given product will be.

You can have two amp blocks in one preset, each with 4 channels. Only one channel can be active per block. So you can have up to two amps active at a time but you have 8 to switch between via scenes.

I think they said the MFC will work as a regular midi controller but won't support Axe Fx mode with the III.

If you don't want to wait you can spend an extra grand and get one pronto , they seem to have some extra inventory just for that cause ...

Thank you, but I'm not in that big a hurry, an extra grand is just over my pay grade. Good to see they have that option for professionals who can justify it though. It's exciting as hell to finally be getting some decent gear, crazy to think about where I was just a few years ago

Yeah, got my email saying it’s available. I’m not sure if I’m going to get it.

I joined the waitlist at 9:00AM PST, still no email yet. Guess there must be a long list of people in that 3 hour span lol.
