Open D with a high E

I wanted to learn the song Narcolepsy by third eye blind and found out it was tuned to DADF#AE. Its kind of like open D, but the highest string is tuned to E. The tuning sounds very pretty and pleasing to my ears. I've been playing around with this tuning and have been coming up with some cool stuff.

Does anyone else use this tuning? What songs are in this tuning that I can check out?
