I've checked out some vids and thought the Talisman plate reverb pedal sounded pretty good for the price. I was thinking about picking one up to try add some of that finished reverb to my VH1 tone. I know that it was not a EMT plate reverb on the first album but I feel it would do the job. Anyone have any experience with these?

I guess according to the recording of VH1 the reverb is in the left channel only correct?

Where would the predelay and time be set to approximate that VH1 style of reverb?

Ive got one and use it on everything. I set predelay and time around 12 noon position. Most all knobs are around 12 or back off around 10-11.

Would love to try one of these out. FWIW, I did have a Digitech hardwire Reverb that was fantastic for this.

Here's a clip of it in front a cranked 1975 Marshall JMP. I swear it actually gives the tone a more crisp attack kind of what we hear on VH1 and subsequent VH recordings. It definitely doesn't seems to screw the tone up.

I'm running WDW so it being mono I would have to pick just one side Left Right or run it up front like it's being used in the video but the reverb would be on all cabinets so I would lose my dry cabinet if I run it up front.

I've never been much a reverb guy but I have really enjoyed my Boss DD500 for the echoplex and SDE3000 delay emulations, probably the closest reproduction of an echoplex that I have heard since the Ibanez EM5 echomachines.

I'm happy with my core tone I'm just looking at this to further screw around/experiment with getting a recorded VH1 tone.

I had one for a little while and dug the reverb a lot but it had this underlying noise that was too noticeable when not playing so I returned it. Could have been an anomaly with just the one I had.

I went down the rabbit-hole of Talisman demo videos and snapped up a ‘previously enjoyed’ one today on Reverb. Along with a Belle Epoch - also ‘previously enjoyed.’

I run my time effects in the loop, delay 1st into verb (which is always on) and then I can punch the delay in and out as needed. Can’t wait to get these on the ‘big’ board.

I recently (FINALLY) played around with the ‘Tone Prints’ for my mini TC HOF and Flashback on my smaller / rehearsal board and found that I really, really liked the ‘Church’ reverb and standard ‘Echoplex’ toneprints - much more than the default settings.
