Opinions on BBE sonic stomp pedal.

Tone wise it tightens bass and scoops some mids which doesn't help you cut.

After an audiophile friend of mine ran some tests and showed me what it does to the phase of the signal and the huge amount of phase distortion it causes i stopped using it entirely and find my sound to be less "artificial".

many people like it though.

RUN! Do not proceed!

hahahaha sorry

I have one in my Mesa Mk III effect loop. Cleans it up a bit. Ask Mailman he has the same setup.

I think it depends on the amp, I've seen it go either way, tighten it up a lot or turn it into a digital sounding mess. I used to use one with an old Randall and it gave it a lot more bass, volume, and clarity but I used it with a JMP-1 rack rig and it was atrocious. Get a used one, if you don't like it flip it for barely any loss

I was checking it out on you tube and I must say I didnt hear a clip I liked.

Oh come on! It's not that bad.......

$50 shipped for mine...  Seriously......

+1. Totally depends on the amp. I've had same experience, nice with some amps, terrible with others. No blanket statement with this pedal. I like it in the effects loop of my HT-5. Makes the power section thicker, clearer and more present.
Key is to keep both dials between 4-7. Nothing lower, or higher than that.

I have the Rack Version 482i and for me its been hit and miss on amps. Makes some sound like shit and some it really accents them.
On my Mark III I run it in the loop and it clears it up ALOT and sounds great!!
On my Rivera......makes the amp sound horrible.
ON my Engl it made it sound processed and Sterile. On the Modded JCM800 I had...brang it to life in a good way!

Plus if overused it will make the amp sound solid state processed.
Just my 2 cents. But it makes that Mesa sound FN AWESOME!!

I think it highly depends on the amp, and what you want from it.
Kinda like a very hard noise gate... great for hard rhythm, but bad for organic lead and smooth tones ;)

I wouldn't touch it. Everything I've heard by BBE has degraded the sound in some way.

The only positive experience I have had with it was during last summer when I was playing at a club. I basically hooked my Line6 XT Live to clubs system, and it sounded cool. But when I then put the Sonic in between the mixer and the floorboard, it actually really improved.
But that was a very specific purpose. For everything else I tried it with, it wasn't worth the box it came in.

My opinion? It's a piece of shit......

Want to buy mine? :D
bahaha nice , its only useful if you need to add digital presence...

I used one for a while when I had my Recto but ended up selling it. I'd say you can spend your money in a better place!
