I've had a Diamond Memory Lane Jr. for years now. It had replaced my Maxon AD999, giving me more clarity and flexibility. Maxon is the best but the warmth of the AD9 seems to darken things a bit. I like a little sparkle in my delay. However, it's always made this kind of oscillating hiss when bypassed. It's not loud, but it gets picked up from the mic. I'm thinking of replacing it. I want something natural, and I'm starting to think perhaps that it doesn't have to be analog. I've always liked the organic warmth of analog effects, but the digital stuff has been so good lately that I'm starting to think there's no more advantage to buy analog. Strymon delay is fantastic, so I'm considering it. I also like Wampler's Faux Tape Echo. Anyway, what are your opinions on the Memory Lane and what delay recommendations would you make?
